We are creating The small Change News Network ...because you don't need an organization to change the world, you need connections.

The small Change News Network is for connecting all kinds of small gifts and donations, news of small successes, plans for small improvements, and Little Individual doers in ways that can make a big difference. sCNN invites Active Citizens to share their personal passion, unique gifts, spare time, financial resources, community connections, life skills and experiences -- to make small change happen and big change possible.

    * What do you want (for the common good)?
    * What do you already have to offer?
    * What do you need from some others?
    * What are you willing to do with it?

Consider big questions like these. Scribble some answers and post them someplace -- anyplace where old friends, distant colleagues and total strangers can find them and find you. Make some sort of ask or offer. Publish it in a weblog or other site, post it to an email list, tack it up on a bulletin board at school, the grocery or coffeehouse. Invite others to join you in doing the one small thing you know you can do to feed the common good, to make your corner of the world more hospitable for all. And pay attention to what happens next!

By yearend, sCNN will provide an easy way to share these happenings with like-minded doers and funders. You'll be able to post directly to this page, to share news of the asks/offers you're posting elsewhere, to add links to where you've posted (if you posted online), to highlight other asks/offers you've noticed in the world, and to report the actions and results that show up.

sCNN will be an easy, open and efficient report of a GivingMarket that already exists everywhere, naturally. sCNN is for "little individuals" to bring their passions, gifts, skills and experience and offer them as news for common good, community development, project plans and funding potential. We won't try to capture detailed project data and giving transactions here, just so many links -- connections -- to the news, learning, action and results that they generate.

If it works, sCNN will help all of us little individuals (who might even hold day jobs within non-profit orgs) connect with other little individuals. It will be an online Center for the news, requests and support (financial and otherwise) that we need to move forward with our plans, dreams, and donations for the common good.

And If it really works, it will be replicated more and more globally to be cultivated more and more locally. It will connect more and more of what we have and do, to more and more of what we need and want.

This is sCNN... Where Small Change Makes the News ...and grows the Network for the common good.
