That idea morphed quickly into the GivingMarket, which is the name that this project travelled under for several months. Here is how the GivingMarket evolved into The smallChangeNewsNetwork?:

GivingMarket/GBayStoryMarket ...a crazy idea from out of the blue, be careful what you wish for.

Giving as Financial Transaction

GivingMarket/OverView ...initially we assumed that we'd want to own the transaction processing
GivingMarket/KeyWordsDefined ...keywords and assumptions matter when making a business case
GivingMarket/SmallChange ...the beginnings of how this could work
GivingMarket/BigChange ...and where it might lead on a grand scale
GivingMarket/OpenQuestions ...and some things still wouldn't quite resolve into action

Giving as Evolving Movements

GivingMarket/WorkingModels ...we collected links to where pieces of this are already alive and working in the real world
GivingMarket/KindredSpirits ...we noticed other people and sites that have something to offer/inform this project
GivingMarket/MembersWebsite ...we wondered, do we need to capture a bunch of data about all kinds of givers and projects?
GivingMarket/PublicFoundation ...and returned briefly to ask, maybe we do need to own the transactions after all? is that where to start?
GivingMarket/WeblogDirectory ...could it be this simple? ...in the tradition of http://www.chicagobloggers.com

Giving as Inviting Relationship

GivingMarket/GivingMarketBlog ...could the simplest /WeblogDirectory also be a weblog, itself?
GivingMarket/StrategicGivingQuestions ...perhaps it's enough to just keep asking these big questions?
GivingMarket/OneBigBlogRoll ...and make a place for links to individual weblogs and websites, owning none of them
GivingMarket/GivingNewsBlog ...maybe it's enough to offer the questions and invite links and news?
GivingMarket/NextSteps ...what if we build it out just a little bit more than it already is? ...small changes continuing.
